  • Nose: Very fine, pure black fruit of black cherry, cassis and blackberry preserve, with crushed mint, an ethereal violet scent and hints of ripe tropical fruit.
  • Palate: On the palate it is carried by lively acidity and taut tannins that give structure, texture and volume; fresh berry flavours last into the long finish.

Dense purple-black with a narrow purple rim. The nose opens with very fine pure black fruits, a fusion of black cherry, cassis, and blackberry jam aromas, with notes of crushed mint, an ethereal scent of violets, and undertones of ripe tropical fruit. The year has given the subtle, complex wine an additional purity and refinement of Fonseca’s subtle, complex fruit character, as well as an attractive minerality. The palate is underpinned by a vibrant acidity and tight sinewy tannins which provide structure as well as texture and volume. The fresh berry flavors continue into the long finish. A finely crafted and perfectly balanced Vintage Port.
