The good weather and the late summer heat, comparable to 2009, characterize the 2018 vintage of this Château Montrose, which expresses incredible potential in the cellar.
The initial tastings predict a very great vintage, a subtle combination of the fruity-aromatic profile of the 2009 and the precision of the 2016.
DEVELOPMENT
Made from a selection of the best grapes, strictly hand-picked and under careful quality control.
The 2018 Château Montrose, Saint-Éstèphe 2nd Grand Cru Classé was aged in oak barrels.
The vintage contains 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot
TASTING
The 2018 Château Montrose has a dense dark color, an intense and deep purple.
The delicate nose is very complex and, with aeration, releases aromas of black fruits and white flowers, accompanied by subtle smoky notes.
The full-bodied palate shows the most exquisite ripe tannins. The attack is opulent and of exceptional aromatic richness.
Powerful and silky, it offers incredible length and finesse.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve at 16-18 °C with game dishes, beef goulash, red meat and strong cheeses.
