The red wine from Domaine de Chevalier is a Pessac Leognan made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from the 2018 vintage. Thanks to the exceptional conditions of that year, the Grand Cru Classé Domaine de Chevalier 2018 promises all the characteristics of an extraordinary vintage that will mark the history of the estate.
Taste:
The 2018 Domaine de Chevalier has an intense garnet-red color. The Cabernet Sauvignon, which makes up most of the blend, is characterized by its intense aromatic structure with notes of black fruits and licorice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, very dense, and linear with chewy but polished tannins and a long, spicy finish. As always, with great intensity and complexity.
Production:
Domaine de Chevalier 2018 was produced with the utmost respect for the fruit and the terroir. For winemaking, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place over 21-28 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and ages for 14-16 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meat, game, lamb, poultry, and spicy cheese.
