Vieux Château Certan 2018 displays beautiful aromas of ripe fruit and violets. Its astonishing balance between freshness and ripeness allows all the qualities of a great, long-aging vintage to shine through.
Taste:
This 2018 vintage, with its intense ruby red color of rare intensity, captivates with its enchanting nose boasting aromas of black fruits and cherries. Thanks to the high Merlot content, the wine delivers a remarkable balance between freshness and concentration. Velvety and of rare deliciousness, it shows all the characteristics of a very great cellar wine.
Production:
After manual harvesting, the grapes are selected. Fermentation and maceration took place traditionally at controlled temperatures over 12 to 15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the best wines were selected for the blending of Vieux Château Certan 2018 and aged in oak barrels for 15 - 20 months. The aging contributes to the wine's development, gently oxygenating and refining it.
Serving suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meats, game, lamb, poultry, and strong cheeses.
