The powerful Bordeaux Haut Medoc from France is a cuvée made from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Bordeaux Haut Medoc are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day to preserve their aromas. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
Color: Extremely intense, brilliant ruby red with pink nuances.
Nose: Complex, fruity-spicy bouquet with prune and vanilla aromas.
Palate: Aromatic on the palate, balanced and persistent, with notes of plum jam and licorice.
Serving suggestion: With game, hard cheese, chocolate-based desserts.
Drinking temperature: Best served at 15 - 18°C
Soil type: Sandy-gravel and clay-limestone soils
