The red wine from Clos Du Marquis is a second wine from Château Léoville Las Cases, a Saint-Julien, consisting of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc from the 2019 vintage. Clos du Marquis offers a beautiful expression of the Saint-Julien appellation's character: structure, complexity, harmony, distinctiveness, and aging potential.
Taste:
The 2019 Clos Du Marquis has a dark, garnet-red color. On the palate, it is very fresh, full-bodied, and absolutely loaded with black fruits and provocative mineral accents. It has a firm texture of granular tannins and a lot of freshness that lingers long and savory on the finish.
Production:
Clos Du Marquis 2019 was produced with the utmost respect for the fruit and the terroir. For winemaking, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place over 21-28 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and matures for 14-16 months in small French oak barrels before bottling.
Serving Suggestion:
Ideal with grilled meats, game, lamb, poultry, and spicy cheeses.
