In context
Domaine Faiveley looks back on almost two hundred years of family tradition: it was founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley. In 2006 Erwan Faiveley took over the management – at the same age at which his father François Faiveley had once taken this step. He strengthened the team and invested in the cellar and vineyards; since 2014 he has been supported by his sister Eve Faiveley. The winery is located between Beaune and Dijon in Nuits-St-Georges. Over the decades the family has steadily expanded its plots – today it owns, among others, vineyard sites in Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet and Mercurey. In 2018 a spectacular new cellar, unique in the region, was opened. Domaine Faiveley is one of the most beautiful wineries in Burgundy, with a reputation known far beyond the country's borders. This Montagny is the accessible entry point to this renown – at the price of a Chalonnaise appellation rather than a top Côte de Nuits site.
