A dry Pinot Gris from the Mosel – uncomplicated and true to the variety, made for everyday enjoyment.

Taste
Colour: Pale gold to straw yellow, often with a slight coppery shimmer – typical of the variety's greyish berry skins.
Nose: Subtly aromatic, with notes of ripe apple, pear and stone fruit, occasionally underpinned by a hint of honey or nuts.
Palate: Powerful and full-bodied for a white wine, with moderate acidity and a creamy, often slightly oily mouthfeel – vinified dry, it never comes across as heavy, but retains a pleasant freshness.

Production
The grapes come from the steep vineyard sites of the Mosel, characterised by shell limestone and slate soils that give the wines their characteristic minerality. Maturation follows the classic dry style, so that the varietal character of the Pinot Gris comes through unadulterated.

Pairs with
An uncomplicated food companion for white meat, poultry or creamy pasta dishes – typical Pinot Gris pairings.

Weingut Marx on the Mosel is a family business that produces its wines right on the steep Mosel slopes – a solid, uncomplicated everyday wine rather than a prestige statement.
