In contrast, Amrut launched a completely new brand in 2021 with Single Malts of India. The brand's goal is to gather previously hidden Indian whisky gems from various distilleries under its umbrella. The pioneering bottling, Neidhal, is, according to Amrut, India's first independently bottled single malt. Neidhal, the coastal region, represents one of the five regions of the earth classified in ancient Tamil texts, each with its own characteristics. And now also its own whisky. As a representative of the Indian coastal landscape, the Peated Single Malt refined by Amrut shows tropical fruits and sweet vanilla as well as soft phenols, sea salt, and iodine.
