The combination of casks creates a deliciously sweet, spicy-smoky taste that is perfect for a barbecue. Ardbeg BizarreBQ impresses with meaty, peaty notes. Ardbeg's Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bill Lumsden developed this unique recipe and limited edition together with grill guru Christian Stevenson (aka DJ BBQ).
Nose: The scent of charcoal and soot mixes with smoky wood and aromatic herbs and
spices. Molasses toffee, hickory-smoked ham and cinnamon-dusted espresso rise. With a splash of water, unmistakably strong citrus aromas are released, with herbal notes
like fennel and anise. Grilled artichokes and a little roast meat make the taste buds
sizzle. The unmistakable smell of a campfire and barbecue embers wafts in the background.
Palate: On the tongue, Ardbeg BizarreBQ is lively and spicy, with notes of chili-marinated
spare ribs. A lot of deep, warming smoke follows, with steak grilled over an open fire,
chili oil, tanned leather and cloves. Ginger, anise and tar crackle on the
palate with an aromatic wood smoke note.
Finish: The powerful, sharp finish is long-lasting, with more grilled artichoke,
black olives and a sooty note that slowly fades away.
