Information about Ardmore Distillery:
Ardmore distillery is located at the highest point of the northern railway line, 600 feet above sea level, near the small village of Kennethmont. Almost unchanged from the moment founder Adam Teacher made his dream a reality, the water is still drawn from the natural springs located on the 1,500-foot-high Knockandy Hill.
Information about the bottler Signatory Vintage:
Do you know the original idea behind "Signatory Vintage"? Each of founder Andrew Symington's single cask bottlings was supposed to receive the signature of a prominent personality. Even before he found a worthy signatory, his first single cask Scotch whisky - a Glenlivet 1968 - was already sold out. Symington then discarded the signature idea, but the brand name remained. His warehouse houses more than 10,000 casks - some from distilleries that no longer exist or that normally produce whisky exclusively for blends. This also applies to North British from Edinburgh. Single grain bottlings from the grain distillery are extremely rare. One of these exclusive whiskies made it into our newsletter this week: After 28 years in a refill sherry butt, the fruity spirit was bottled on March 4, 2020, into just 283 bottles.
