Château Pontet-Canet Vintage Selection

The vintage wines of Château Pontet-Canet are red wines rooted in the Pauillac wine region, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grape varieties. Like all first-class growths in the region, the wine impresses with aromas of dark fruits such as blackcurrant or blackberry and cedarwood on the nose and palate. The tannin structure of these wines offers excellent aging potential.

VINIFICATION of Château Pontet-Canet

The harvest is done by hand, and the grapes are then sorted again. Maceration fermentation lasts about four weeks. Château Pontet-Canet renews 60% of its barrique barrels annually. The wine matures in these for approximately 16 to 20 months, depending on the vintage. The wine is not filtered before bottling. Since the 2012 vintage, about a third of the harvest has been aged in amphora-like ceramic tanks, specially developed for the estate.
