Palate: The intense notes of cask oak are perfectly balanced by the natural expression of lemon peel and dried fruits. This is joined by ginseng and a finish of impressive citrus.
Finish: A pleasant mix of spicy oak and the specially grown malted barley with a final hint of stewed peach.
The Daftmill 15 Years Old is one of the first whiskies distilled by the Cuthberts. Francis Cuthbert harvested the Chariot barley for the Lowland whisky on August 31, 2004, from the fields of his farm. It was among the last batches to be processed at the local traditional malting house before Robert Kilgour & Co. closed down. 28 First Fill Bourbon Barrels were eventually bottled as Daftmill 15 y.o. – and at cask strength.
