Distillery:
The Fife-based Wemyss family has a long-standing connection to the whisky industry, and their passion for Scotch whisky continues today with independent bottlings from Wemyss Malts, such as the handcrafted blended malts "The Hive," "Spice King," and "Peat Chimney." However, the family's long-held dream was to produce a single malt under their own direction. In 2010, the idea was born to transform a semi-derelict farm near the world-famous Kingsbarns Golf Course into a distillery. During the restoration work, which lasted over three years, meticulous care was taken to preserve the old charm of the farm and its loving details, until finally, in March 2015, the first distillate flowed from the stills of the young privately run distillery.
