The winemaker

The wine is made by the brothers Pascal and Nicolas in Saint-Michel-de-Lapujade. The Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle vines grow on the terroir of the Entre-deux-Mers, on clay-limestone slopes.

Vinification

The grapes are machine-harvested at night and pressed, and the must is settled for 48 hours at below 10 °C. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by ageing on the fine lees with regular bâtonnage (at least twice a week for four months), which gives the wine extra roundness.

History of the estate

In 1839 Pierre acquired this estate in the south of the Bordeaux appellation. The winegrowing tradition here goes back even further: as early as 1150, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of England, had monks plant the first vineyard plots here. At the end of the 1960s Pierre IV modernised the estate, before it returned to organic farming in 2010.
