With the second bottling of his limited edition series ANIMALS OF SCOTLAND, THE CASKHOUND, also known as Tilo Schnabel, sets his sights on the Scottish Highlands: characterful, powerful and incredibly smooth at the same time, the 13-year-old TEANINICH, fully matured in a fine Red Wine Barrique, comes into the glass and perfectly embodies the spirit of the "Highland Stag" adorning the bottle label!
Nose: initially grassy and floral notes, which are replaced by ripe apple, vinous aromas and a mix of raisins, tobacco leaves and tea, followed by vineyard peaches, herbal honey and spice, finally there is a ladle of warm vanilla sauce over pastries and a hint of oatmeal.
Palate: oily-velvety start, warming and with much sweetness, spicy wine aromas and cherries in chocolate, followed by vanilla crescents, cinnamon, spiced cake and a light peppery note. Then we encounter orange chocolate, a hint of plum jam and tannins.
Finish: medium long and dry, with a melange of cocoa powder, spices and pleasant oak notes.
Conclusion: Highland Fusion: malty-spicy robustness meets fruity finesse.
