When Walter Teeling founded a small artisanal distillery in the industrial heart of Dublin City in 1782, he ingrained whiskey production in his family's DNA. Since 2012, Jack and Stephen Teeling, the youngest generation of the distilling family, have been putting their own stamp on Irish Whiskey. Finally, in 2015, they proudly opened the new Teeling Distillery near the site of the original family distillery – making it the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years.
Single Cask bottlings showcase individual excerpts from the Irishmen's visionary portfolio, for which they experiment with various casks. For Kirsch Import, Teeling opened a Calvados cask in September, which served for the finish of a 16-year-old Single Malt. The effect: the spice and fruit of the French apple brandy are retained in the Irish whiskey, which is bottled at an aromatic 54.4% vol. Cask Strength.
