A single malt whisky – finished in 6 different sherry cask types
In the second step, the cask specialists from CASKNOLIA worked their magic: the 4-year-old Spanish Single Malt Whisky was simultaneously filled into 6 carefully selected and treated Quarter Casks, which previously contained the following well-known sherry varieties:
• Moscatel (dark fruits, very sweet, raisins, syrup)
• Palo Cortado (sweet, rich, dry, sweet spices, fruits)
• Oloroso (dark, nutty, dark ripe fruits)
• Pedro Ximénez (very sweet, dark fruits, raisins, syrup)
• Amontillado (sweetness, nutty, dry, fresh, acidity)
• Pajarete* (dried fruits, intense, spicy, very sweet, syrup)
In these 6 casks, the Spanish Single Malt is now subjected to a maturation of at least one year. The use of the special, 140-liter Quarter Casks ensures greater contact between the distillate and the cask, so that the influence of the respective previous sherry filling is much more intense.
