The anniversary edition

Wasenweiler celebrated its 1,000th anniversary with a special edition of its own from Weingut Peter Briem – four wines, each at the symbolic price of 1,000 cents, as a tribute to the village's long history. This Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) is part of the limited anniversary series and combines the family estate's signature style with a special historic occasion.

The estate

Weingut Peter Briem lies on the southern edge of the Kaiserstuhl, in Ihringen-Wasenweiler – the sunniest place in Germany, with more than 1,700 hours of sunshine in summer. Peter Briem took over the business from his grandfather in 1977; today his son Frank Briem runs the family estate together with his wife Heidi. Over the years one hectare has grown to 115 – a success story rooted in the same volcanic soils that shaped the village's winemaking tradition.

Tasting note

Pale to light yellow in the glass, with a typically slightly nutty aroma. Noticeable but subtle acidity forms the counterpoint to the wine's soft character. On the nose, southern fruits such as citrus and pineapple, complemented by hints of quince.
